My personal connection to Bob Mackie:

Feathers, fringe and a whole lot of crystals, proving that “Shine Never Goes Out Of Style” Bob Mackie is the pioneer of all things showgirl glam. From Cher and Diana Ross’ iconic looks, to Carol Burnett's legendary sketches, and let’s not forget the iconic impact on the Las Vegas showgirl stage. I have always loved Bob’s whimsical ways; he showed the world that more is more. His imagination, dedication to skin-tone matching and impeccable diamond touch has always made him THE ONE. The original inspiration.

I too am a showgirl, I have worn costumes my whole life, since age 3 to be exact and to be fair. I’ve likely worn them more than I have worn actual clothing.

I had the pleasure of wearing a Bob Mackie’s masterpiece in Vegas for a New Years Eve project back in 2012. I absorbed as much of that creative genius energy as I could. Ironically at that same time, I was going viral for my “Dazzling” sheer tights. I couldn’t keep up with my orders so I finished and shipped off what I could in LA, then flew to Vegas with a suitcase full of crystals and blank fishnets so that I could deliver 150 pairs of “Diamond Girl” skin-tone crystal fishnets to Cirque Du Soleil. No one knew while I wasn’t in rehearsals, I was dazzling in the through the of the night with the help of ironing board in the hotel room.

While I never got to work with the magical Mackie himself, I got really close a few years back when we dazzled Usher’s SuperBowl! We did over 50 looks and one of our d.bleu.dazzled catsuits was to be paired with his legendary headpieces from Jubilee.!!! They cut the look, but in my mind, he saw my work and loved it.
